Chelsea Reed

Chelsea Reed is a dynamic singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist from Newcastle, NSW. She is the drummer and singer for indie garage-pop duo, The Tryouts, who are making a name in the local scene. Chelsea was living and working as a musician in Canada and she is now gearing up for her first solo release since her self-titled debut album in 2017, produced by Dave Draves (Kathleen Edwards, Caitlin Harnett) in Ottawa, Ontario. Chelsea has toured extensively across Canada and Australia, both under her own name and with The Tryouts. This year, she has turned her focus back to her piano based songwriting roots, and is working on an EP with the guidance of producer/musician Dave Jenkins Jr (Vera Blue, Daniel Johns, Lenka). The new EP is a showcase of Chelsea’s talents as a songwriter, pianist and drummer. She is also a keen film maker, and incorporates her visual style through music videos. Musical influences range from 60s and 70s pop and 90s alt-pop.
