Samuel Winder crafts songs that saunter delicately between cosy and arresting. With piercingly sincere lyrics at the helm, the Newcastle local’s rich, raw vocals deftly tread the crossroads of folk, indie-rock and country. 2025 saw Winder release a slew of singles - including ‘Parking Fines’, a folk/dance/pop hybrid, ‘Dustbowl Disco’, a folk-country fusion and delicate, gritty ‘Dog’ - the accompanying video of which landed a placement on ABC’s Rage. Now, after a near ten month break from music which saw him relocate from the east coast of Australia to London, Samuel is releasing a brand new single, ‘Slippin’. A musing on aging, privilege, and perfectionism, the racing folk-rock number pits pensive lyricism against a relentless, driving kit and whimsical, blistering string lines. With an unannounced, full length project biding its time in the wings, Winder continues to carry an unyielding commitment to penning music as searingly candid as it is soothing, catchy and cathartic.
